Terms of Service

The short version: Use ROAM to travel better and connect with your community. Be kind to other users. AI travel advice is helpful but not infallible — always verify safety information through official sources. We reserve the right to remove accounts that violate these terms.

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using ROAM ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. These Terms form a binding agreement between you and ROAM LLC.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use ROAM. By using the Service, you confirm you are 18 or older.

3. Your account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password. You may not share your account or create accounts on behalf of third parties. You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account.

4. AI-generated travel advice

⚠️ Important: ROAM's recommendations are AI-generated and may be inaccurate, outdated, or incomplete. AI safety information must not be your sole source before traveling — especially to destinations with complex LGBTQ+ legal environments. Always verify through official sources: travel.state.gov and ilga.org.

ROAM LLC is not liable for any harm, loss, or expense arising from reliance on AI-generated travel recommendations or safety assessments.

5. ROAM Connect community standards

You agree to treat other users with respect and dignity, and not to harass, threaten, stalk, or send unsolicited messages to other users.

🌈 Zero tolerance: Harassment, discrimination, predatory behavior, or use of ROAM to facilitate harm against any member of our community will result in immediate permanent account termination.

6. Prohibited uses

Violating any applicable laws or regulations
Scraping, copying, or redistributing ROAM content without permission
Attempting to hack or disrupt the Service
Creating fake profiles or impersonating others
Using automated tools or bots to interact with the Service
Reselling or commercially exploiting the Service without written permission

7. Premium subscriptions

ROAM Premium is billed at $9/month by Stripe
You may cancel at any time through Settings → Billing; access continues until end of billing period
Refunds are issued at our discretion for technical failures on our part
We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days notice

8. Intellectual property

The ROAM name, logo, and design are owned by ROAM LLC. Your profile content and itineraries remain yours — you grant ROAM a license to display them within the app.

9. Affiliate links

ROAM may earn a commission when you book hotels or experiences through links in the app, at no extra cost to you. Affiliate relationships do not influence our AI recommendations.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ROAM LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify ROAM LLC from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms. You may delete your account at any time through Settings → Account → Delete account.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of San Diego County, California.

14. Changes to terms

We'll notify you by email of material changes. Continued use of ROAM after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
