Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

ROAM is a queer travel AI platform operated by ROAM LLC, a California limited liability company. Contact: privacy@roamqueer.com

2. What we collect

• Account information: Email address and encrypted password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email.
• Profile information: Display name, pronouns, home city, bio, travel tags, and profile photo — all optional.
• Trip data: AI conversations and saved itineraries.
• Usage data: Pages visited and trips planned, used to improve ROAM.
• Payment data: Processed entirely by Stripe. ROAM never sees your card number.

3. How we use your information

• To provide and improve ROAM and its AI recommendations
• To personalize your experience (e.g. home city for flight suggestions)
• To process your Premium subscription via Stripe
• To show you in ROAM Connect only when opted in with an active itinerary
• To send transactional emails (confirmations, password resets, receipts)
• To comply with legal obligations if required

We do not use your data for advertising, sell it to data brokers, or share it with third parties for marketing.

4. AI conversations

Your conversations are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate responses. Anthropic processes this data under their own privacy policy (anthropic.com/privacy). We recommend not including highly sensitive personal information in your ROAM chats.

5. ROAM Connect privacy

• Your profile is only visible when you have a saved itinerary and visibility is turned on
• Other users can only see travelers at their own saved destination — no searching other locations
• Exact travel dates are never shown — only the general month
• You can turn off visibility at any time from your profile page
• We never display your last name, exact location, or contact information

6. Data sharing

We share data only with these service providers: Supabase (database/auth), Anthropic (AI), Stripe (payments), Cloudflare (API proxy), and Netlify (hosting). All are contractually prohibited from using your data for their own marketing.

7. Your rights

• Access all data we hold — email privacy@roamqueer.com
• Correct inaccurate data — update your profile in the app
• Delete your account and all data — Settings → Account → Delete account
• Export your data — Settings → Privacy → Request data export
• Opt out of ROAM Connect — My Profile → visibility toggle
• Object to processing — contact us and we'll respond within 30 days

EU and California residents may have additional rights under GDPR or CCPA. We honor all such requests.

8. Data retention

We retain your data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we permanently delete all your data within 30 days.

9. Security

We use HTTPS/TLS encryption, encrypted password storage, and row-level database security. If you believe your account is compromised, contact security@roamqueer.com immediately.

10. Children

ROAM is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. Contact us immediately if you believe a minor has an account.

11. Changes to this policy

We'll notify you by email of significant changes and update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of ROAM constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
